What Will We Read, Create, and Become in 2024?
It has been four years since the global reset that changed everything for us. We tried our best and struggled through and yet even now, four years later, we're still quite unsure of our footing. We've seen some of our darkest moments as the years went by; some days it seemed impossible to come out. But even as we clung to what remained of our old lives, there was a whisper of something new. And perhaps, within the loss, a chance for something better awaits us.
The pandemic forced us all to confront loss. In those difficult days, books became our companion. They mirrored our pain, and fueled the hope to rebuild. Books reminded us of the enduring power of stories. But reading is just the beginning.
This 2024, we long for creation. Pens in hand, brushes over blank canvases, and voices that have been prepared in the past season are beginning to spring up — we yearn to pour our own stories onto the world. This year, we embrace the artist within. Craft poems, create worlds, leave paper trails for the future generation. Or maybe for our future selves. In 2024, we share our unique voice, knowing it adds depth to the collective story.
As we read and create, what will we become? Perhaps kinder, more compassionate, fueled by the stories that move us. Perhaps bolder, braver, inspired by the characters who, through Divine Providence, defy limitations. Perhaps wiser, seeking truths in the pages and within the depths of our own being.
This year, we embrace the shedding of old skins, the blossoming of new strengths, the courageous unfolding of who we truly are meant to be.
So, dear reader, creator, and evolving soul, take a deep breath and turn the first few pages.
This year is ours to create.
